TOP CHEF fans....I changed high schools this year to be closer to home. I now work at North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. The Family & Consumer Science department has two specialities: Early Childhood Education & Culinary Arts. The day of the finally of Top Chef we enjoy having one of the finalist with us for the day, Kevin Gillespie. He is the Executive Chef and Co-Owner of WoodFire Grill. His restaurant is here in Atlanta, GA. While at NCHS Kevin spoke with our students, prepared foods, and took pictures with our FCS program students. NCHS was only the second high school (besides the one he graduated from) to have him speak to the FCS students.
We appreciate him coming and spending the day with us. I enjoyed watching him on Top Chef, but upon meeting him I understood why he was voted fan favorite of the show. He was very inspirational and a positive celebrity for our students to meet. I was able to grab a picture with Kevin before he left.
